Gerard J. Bourgeois

Gerard J. Bourgeois has over 30 years of experience providing strategic legal counsel in estate planning, estate administration, and corporate law. He is dedicated to helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate complex legal matters with clarity and confidence.
Gerard’s practice focuses on estate planning and administration, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate. He also advises businesses on corporate formation, governance, transactions, and compliance, providing practical guidance that aligns with clients’ personal and business goals.
A lifelong resident of Louisiana, Gerard is committed to serving his local community and building lasting relationships with clients based on trust and competency. He has handled closings for hundreds of coast guard documented vessels, residences and commercial properties. He is also proud to have assisted clients with the formation of hundreds of limited liability companies and corporations and hundreds of individual estate plans and successions.
He graduated in 1989 with a degree in finance from University of Southern Louisiana (now ULL). Gerard earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School and is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.
Gerard currently serves as attorney for the Port of Morgan City, amongst other entities, and numerous great friends.

William "Bill" Bourgeois works across a range of practice areas, including appellate law, construction law, corporate litigation, healthcare law, public body law, and regulatory compliance. He advises businesses, healthcare providers, and public entities on governance, risk management, and operational matters, with a focus on helping clients efficiently navigate complex legal and regulatory environments.
Bill’s transactional practice includes contract review and negotiation, corporate compliance, and regulatory counseling, as well as advising public bodies, boards, and commissions on governance, ethics, public bid law and open meetings and public records requirements. Bill’s litigation practice includes complex disputes, mediations, jury and bench trials, and state and federal courts.
Known for his practical, detail-oriented approach, Bill works closely with clients to identify risk, ensure compliance, and develop effective legal strategies tailored to their objectives. He is committed to delivering clear guidance and reliable, competent legal representation across all stages of a matter.
With an undergraduate degree from LSU and his Juris Doctorate from Tulane Law School, Bill is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts. He is actively involved in professional organizations dedicated to law and frequently participates in continuing education to stay up to date on continuously evolving regulations and legal precedents.
