Gerard J. Bourgeois has over 30 years of experience providing strategic legal counsel in estate planning, estate administration, and corporate law. He is dedicated to helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate complex legal matters with clarity and confidence.
Gerard’s practice focuses on estate planning and administration, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate. He also advises businesses on corporate formation, governance, transactions, and compliance, providing practical guidance that aligns with clients’ personal and business goals.
A lifelong resident of Louisiana, Gerard is committed to serving his local community and building lasting relationships with clients based on trust and competency. He has handled closings for hundreds of coast guard documented vessels, residences and commercial properties. He is also proud to have assisted clients with the formation of hundreds of limited liability companies and corporations and hundreds of individual estate plans and successions.
He graduated in 1989 with a degree in finance from University of Southern Louisiana (now ULL). Gerard earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School and is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.
Gerard currently serves as attorney for the Port of Morgan City, amongst other entities, and numerous great friends.

He is committed to delivering clear guidance and reliable, competent legal representation across all stages of a matter.
